I have played bass since 1974 and I have had also leftie Guild with 2 pick-ups
(1979) (neck got broken 1982) and then I bought Music Man leftie Sabre, but it was
too heavy. I prefer my leftie Fender Jazz Bass build 1969-71, I bought that 1981.
I have recorded with that summer 1981, when it was without fretless. It was so poorly
unfretted and when I sold my Sabre, I got it re-fretted again. In 70's I played heavy
like D. Purple, Zeppelin, Rainbow, Kiss and such stuff. Same time I played also prog-pop
spiritual (some kind of gospel). That LP 1981 was Antti Ojala: Mitä tunsit? (Finngospel
1981). Nowadays I'm lutheran priest working as youth pastor in Nokia parish, Finland.
I have also played bass with my former confirmation school pupil, Tomi Markkola every
week summer 1994 & 1995. He won Finnish Tango King contest being Tango King of
Finland 1996! Also I led 1992 Blues-Passio-project composing ja writing lyrics for
that and I played my electric guitars like Jimi Hendrix!
Here is picture from 1982 of me playing lefty Music Man Sabre in gospel Festival at
Sampola Concert Hall, Tampere, Finland. You can see that I'm very thin and hairy: I
didn't went to Army for religous reason and I had to go Civil Service without salary
for 12 months, I worked with mentally handicapped kids and I was a vegetarian. In picture
I'm dressed with University of Helsinki T-skirt, because I studied there in Theological
Faculty 1979-1988. I'm Doctor of Theology! lef |
