I am a brazilian engineer and left hand bassplayer who lives at Salvador, Bahia, and I think the idea of your site is great to unite us all.

I was born at 1980. Firt of all I learn how to play acoustic guitar at 12, always changing stings to work as a left-hand instrument. When I begin to listen rock, I saw Steve Harris of Maiden playing in a video, and then Paul McCartney, and I fall in love with the bass guitar.

My first one was a very used right hand bass I bought from a guy I don't remember anymore, I was 15, the sound was not so good and I had no gear, but was so fun to play and I begin my first band, Deathwarrior, playing Maiden, Gamma Ray and Helloween covers, beggining also my own compositions.

Than I get to university at another state, and my bass was left behind at Bahia. The arm was broken when my family was changing home, and so I became a non instrument player! I stopped playing for almost 7 years, until 2007, when I bought myself a new left-hand Eagle bass that I'm using now, not so expensive but with a good sound. This was my return to music.

Since then, I tried to start a new band, but my time is difficult, so I became a self made band, with all instruments played by me, although I consider myself a bassplayer ever.
It is really hard to get left hand instruments, I'm searching an acoustic bass here, but I cannot find it anywhere. I have originals left hand instruments: an Eagle acoustic guitar, a simple Michael electric guitar and my Eagle 4 string bass.
