My name is Assaf Hakimi I was born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel. I began to play the electric bass at age 17 and at 22 added the upright bass.

I lived in New York for 8 years and had the honor to work and share the band stand with some of today's best jazz musicians, performing in New York City's most prestigious jazz clubs.

I recently recorded my debut album "Some Other Day", featuring saxophonist Eli Degibri, trombone player Jonathan Voltzok, piano player Alon Yavnai, and drummer Clarence Penn. The album is scheduled to be released in the beginning of 2009.
