My name is Finian Darby & I'm a left handed professional bass
player.
I started playing guitar when I was six and as one of my older brothers played bass
professionally, it was natural for me to progress on to the bass.
I was self taught and got some lessons from my older brother, until the early eighties
when I went to study under a Berklee College graduate Pat Hoye for several years.
I have played with different bands in the eighties from rock to country, funk to soul
and blues. All great experience and fun which included tours of Europe the USA &
Canada.
At present I am the resident bassist for Paul Harrington who won the Eurovision in
1994 with Charlie McGettigan singing Rock n Roll Kids.
Paul has released several albums since then and I've had the pleasure of playing on
most of them also touring with his band to promote the album releases.
At the moment my bass gear is a lefty 1997 G&L L2500 5 string with a maple neck
in metallic blue, a 1994 Musicman Stingray Hybrid with a maple neck in candy apple
red, a 1990 Warwick Thumb Bass NT 5 string & a 1980's Fender Precision 4 string.
I am using a EBS HD350 head with a EBS Neoline 2X10 & EBS Neoline 4X10.
