I've been playing bass for over 30 years and must say that its the best thing that ever happen to me, I've traveled from state to state and the UK, i have a few bass guitars the one i play the most is my Fender Jazz five string Roscoe Beck, the best strings to buy are Elixir new enhanced tone or the stainless steel, you can't go wrong either way,,,, trust me!!!

I've played with a lot blues greats like, Jimmy Johnson, James Cotton, Koko Taylor, Buddy Guy, and the great B.B. King to name a few, recorded on two major blues labels, DelMark and Blind Pig, after all these years of playing bass, its still the most enjoyable thing I've ever done, I'm grateful and thank God for this talent,,,, everyday!!!
