My name is Michael Campaner and I am 36 years old and reside in
Queens NYC, USA. I became interested in playing the bass guitar at the age of 14 after
a brief stint with the 6 string guitar. I found the growling sound and Arpeggio "broken
chord" style of the bass more appealing to me. I had formal training playing the
contrabass in high school, right-handed, but played my electric bass left-handed. Interestingly,
my teachers disallowed a left handed bowing style in the classroom as it would of caused
collisions with my fellow musicians. This was amusing but allowed me to play the classical
double bass as a righty and precision electric as my natural lefty. Something the members
        will find interesting.

Sadly, I became dis-interested in playing for some time after my mid-20's only to be
inspired again and begin playing in my 30's. I now study with my original chidlhood
electric bass teacher on a bi-weekly basis, expanding my theory, rhythm and slap technique.

I am currently a member of a 3 piece band called "Imaginary Monster". Our
style of music is a fusion of funk-blues-rock with a sprinkle of reggae. |
