Hello fellow lefties, My name is Mike Bub and I currently live in the USA. I started playing when I was 12 when I had found out that playing bass was in my blood. I am the 4th generation bassist in the family, next to my uncle John Lorenzi (famed Studio Bassist) and my 2 grandfathers however, I am the first lefty in the family. I am currently 21 and have been starting out all over again with my latest band. I play in a hard rock/metal band known as "Desperation Loves Company". We do some cover songs, and originals by us. I have had some fun experiences onstage playing old school Punk Rock and Classic Rock Covers in Tribute Bands, as well as a Black Metal Band for a while. Other than that I've had no studio time, In my off time, I am busy concentrating as DJ, Hard Rock/ Metal Director for my College Radio Station WARY 88.1FM (means I'm in charge of everything hard rock and metal down there and I get new music before the public!). So far, my Ibanez SR300L is the closest to "my perfect bass". My live rig consists of my trusty Ibanez SR300L in Black. My amplifiers are an Acoustic B200 Combo, and a 1960s Ampeg B-15 (recently found out it was one after reading Bass Player). My influences for playing (besides my family) are as follows: Geddy
Lee, John Entwistle, Cliff Burton, John Paul Jones, Tom Araya, Matt Snell, Bryan Beller,
Frank Bello, David Ellefson, Marco Hietala, and Paul Gray (note: Paul is a lefty as
well, but he plays in Slipknot). |
