Hi! My name is Pedro Dias, and I'm left-handed since I was born. I've always had problems with it, when I suddenly discovered Paul McCartney, Jimmy Hendrix, and others. So, I've stopped to wish a plastic surgery to become a right-handed one.

I'm the bass-player of Filhos da Judith's rock n' roll group, and we have as influence classic 60's groups as The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Mutantes, and we intitule ourselves as a Drive n' Beat band.

I'm 27 years old, I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and I play the bass since I was 17. Since my roots are tied on the classic rock, my ideal sound is the more raw as possible, without using any effects. The kind of equalization that I always look for is the balance between a sound more heavy and low and the picking with definition on the notes, with a metallic sound.

My instrument was made by a Brazilian Luthier called N. Zaganin. It's a Fender Precision 1951 vintage model, with 4 strings and Precision Bass Pickup. Yeah!

On the stage, I often use a Staner BS120 amp plugged in a Beringher Bass Graphic Equalizer BEQ700. With this set -up, I can reach that kind of equalization I've mentioned before; extracting the low frequency to the amp and balancing with a higher EQ on the pedal.

There are two examples of bass-players that frequently use this kind of sound: Sting and John Entwistle (The Who).
