My name is Roberto Iacovacci, born in Rome in 1977, but most people know me as Rob 'n Roll!
But, six months later, the bassist left and of course I switched to bass, and this is the beginning of the story of my ex band Bubblegum Kiss (the name says it all), a party rock'n'roll band! We recorded a 5 tracks cd in 2001, with a very low budget. We got a lot of (surprisingly) good reviews (some of them are on our "celebrative" myspace: www.myspace.com/bubblegumkissrocks) and sold a lot of copies all over the world - including Japan, there's still some copies left in the Disk Heaven music stores in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya (I've been in Osaka last year for holydays and it was a blast to see my own cd on a shelf, lightyears far away >from Italy!). For the "usual" reasons, we disbanded a couple of years later, and it took a couple of years for me to find a band worth naming here: in 2005 I got a call from my friends playing in a The Darkness Tribute band (called The Brightness), the first from Italy! We have a long list of shows played in Italy and Europe - highlights were a mini-tour in Holland (including the DarknessRock.nl Anniversary party), the Darkness.it Anniversary party in Milan and the successful Glamshot festival in Bologna. For more info: www.thebrightness.it (it's in italian but you can find an english section) and www.myspace.com/thebrightnessrock We are on a hiatus at the moment since The Darkness themselves
have split. Last but not least, I formed a new rock'n'roll band called The Guestz,
featuring some well known musicians in the Rome area (especially guitarist Jonna, a
sort of living legend in Rome's rock scene!); we are about to record our first ep,
and we play shows regularly - so far we supported german rock band Soul Doctor
(featuring Tommy Heart of Fair Warning) and NY guitar virtuoso Adam Bomb (and we'll
do it again in October); plus we had the chance to support Rhino Bucket's european
tour but unfortunately the whole tour didn't happen; for more info: www.myspace.com/theguestz and www.impossiball.it/guestz for some professional live
        photo galleries. |
