I was born in Istanbul on 15 May 1958. After university I became a mechanical engineer and I worked for 3 years.

When I was 25, I left engineering. I've always been a good listener especially soul, funk and rock. But I was 19 when I played guitar and bass for the first time.
With my family's support I practised very hard at home. After practising for two years, I started to work in clubs, and as a backing musician at weddings. I did this for about 7 years. Then I started playing with a famous pop singer in Ankara, Turkey, for the first time.

In 1994 I moved to Istanbul. With three of my musician friends I formed a rock band called The Deep and with some others a funk band called Funk Doctors. For ten years we have been playing at different clubs in Istanbul. I am also still playing for Turkish pop singers (a 'must' in Turkey). I have played on some pop albums. So it goes on.
I'm self taught. I think I'm a player more than a musician. But I've really got that groove ...
