Frans Papp

Band: Grooves Inc.

Leeuwarden / Netherlands

Dear Arni,
I visit your site regularly and it is time to put me on the list.

with kind regards,
Frans Papp

I play own built six strings basses (see my website) and play in the band "Grooves Inc." see www.grooves-inc.nl. We play soul, funk, motown etc. with 3 fantastic, beautiful female singers. I have all the room I need for bass with this band.

My last band was 'Soulciety', a solid funk/soul/disco band that exists for almost 20 years already. See
www.soulciety.nl

Before that I played in several pop and funkmetal bands with own repertoire and I used to play 6-string midibass (own build, naturally) in a symphonic band.

Being lefthanded is difficult in only one way: there's is never a chance to check out a bassguitar.
There is only one way to overcome that: Build your own ( or order one from a builder when you have at least 3000 euros lying around).
But be aware: don't just try to copy another boring, old fashioned Fender (yes, I mean that), use your own experience as a bassplayer and talk a lot with other builders, that's enough to build the best instrument for your own wishes.
One downside: you have to be extremely handy and shouldn't have to rely on other people to do the actual work.

check
www.papp.nl for more. I can even build you a lefthanded bass if you like. And remember: it will be built by a lefty, what more do you need.

Greetings,

Frans Papp

I play own built six strings basses (see my website)

- Ada MB1 pre-amp with a tech21 midi mouse
- TC-electronic G-Major (hooked up to the MB1 through midi)
- Hypex 2 * 400 watt D-class power amp (without coolingfan!!!), lightweight (8 kilos)
- TCS 212M very professional 700/1400 watt monitor in stereo as main cabinet.
this is a back to basics rig (sort of :-)). I have had everything ranging from damn cheap to superclass (Glockenklang) and I ended up with this rig for a reasonable price (about 2500 euro with a secondhand MB1)

Every bassplayer should use 12 inch speakers to my opinion, preferably in a wedged cabinet with a compression driver. It's awesome and you here yourself in a superb way ( and mix in the rest of the band). See http://www.tcsaudio.com/products/tcs2120M.html
