Jimmy Haslip was born December 31st, 1951 in the Bronx, New York.
He grew up in Huntington, Long Island, where at an early age, he started playing drums
and percussion. At the age of 7 learned to play the trumpet, tenor horn, baritone horn
and the tuba in school. He also became troupe bugler as a boy scout and performed in
competition in several New York drum and bugle corps. |

I've been using a Keith Roscoe 6-string fretted bass exclusively on the road. It's has an Amber colored exhibition grade Quilted Maple top and the body is solid Mahogany wood, a bolt- on Maple & Purple Heart neck with a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. It has a super active 3-way (18v) Bartolini pre- amp, Bartolini pickups and tuning pegs. |
