Jimmy Haslip ist Bassist der amerikanischen Jazz-Band Yellowjackets. Darüberhinaus ist er ein begehrter Studiomusiker mit hervorragenden Verbindungen in der Musikszene. So berichtete er u. a. von seinem Freund und Bass-Bauer, Mike Tobias, mit dem er seit Beginn seiner 35jährigen Bassistenkariere zusammenarbeitet.
(Übrigens: Der Name "Killer B" für den Tobias-Bass ist Jimmy Haslips Erfindung und bezieht sich auf den Namen "Yellowjackets". Hierbei handelt es sich um aggressive Bienen, die in Schwärmen aus Mittelarmerika nach Nordamerika herüber kommen. Eben Killer-Bienen.).

I've been using a Keith Roscoe 6-string fretted bass exclusively on the road. It's has an Amber colored exhibition grade Quilted Maple top and the body is solid Mahogany wood, a bolt- on Maple & Purple Heart neck with a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. It has a super active 3-way (18v) Bartolini pre- amp, Bartolini pickups and tuning pegs.
