Oya was born in Eskisehir, Turkey in 1974. In 1991 played classical guitar for
two years then begin to play bass guitar. In 1997, she has been involved in recording
project with "Istanbul Blues Kumpanyasi". She played at "Asian Live
Music Exchance in Shirataka'98" in Japan with Tibet Agirtan, a famous pop-rock
star in Turkey. Also, she recorded a single with her band "Catwalk".
Then, she went to London for further studies in music. In 1999, she graduated from
London Music Scholl as "Bassist Of The Year".
Oya went back to Turkey to join "Bulutsuzluk Özlemi", a rock band in
Turkey, for their Turkey tour. Meanwhile, Oya also played in second album of "Yavuz
Çetin", a guitarist, singer and songwriter. She played one song for the
tribute album of a Turkish singer, songwriter Bülent Ortacgil.
She is now playing with her new band "BaBaZula". They signed to Doublemoon
records and released their last album "Psychebelly Dance Music" on May 2003.
Oya plays bass, sings and is increasingly involved in composing in the album. They
gave their first concert in "Printemps de Bourge Festival" in France. When
in town, Oya also can be seen performing in local scene. Besides performing, Oya also
shares her experience and put her efforts as an educator, teaching in her own studio
"Studio Drum & Bass".
