Fender Telecaster Bass 1971 This is a very rare all original early 1971 Fender Telecaster Bass, factory Left Handed. Original 70's case. The bass is all original exept the pickguard( the old pickguards usaly would shrink or break)and a very good old mid 70's professinal polyurethaan refinish. This Lefty Tele Bass comes with a 1968 Neck. Fender started production On the Tele Bass in mid-1968, which is when they made a batch of lefty necks for this model. When it was Time to assemble this bass in 1971, they reached in the parts bin and found out they still had a Lefty Neck in inventory! You can make out “23SEP68C• on the neck stamp!! Beautiful, easy to play and good sounding short scale Precision Bass. Complete conversion by my luthier, based on a Harley Benton PB Shorty which I bought new. The headstock was reshaped to Telecaster style and painted in the same color as the body. The rest of the neck was painted satin clear with vintage tint. The saddle was replaced with one made of bone. The frets were dressed. The shape of the pickguard was slightly changed and milled from 4-layer material using a CNC machine. The pickups are a Sidewinder (Mudbucker) from Epiphone in the neck position, and a Bassculture Dual Coil in the Thunderbird housing on the bridge. Each pickup has its own volume and tone control. I am selling this "Flexx Peter 4" Lefthand-Bass! The "Flexx" basses are manufactured in Duisburg, Germany by Rheingold Music. The "Peter 4" is a precision bass, which is quality-wise unmatched in this price range. The playability and sound are excellent all over the fretboard - the instrument has no dead spots, plays really well, and sounds very balanced and exactly like you would expect from a P-bass. It was built in 2015. I am selling it because I do not play it anymore, and I think it´s sad that it´s not being played. The instrument is in an overall good condition, with an excellent set up. is working flawlessly. There are some signs of use on the back, because I took it on
tour a lot for a couple of years. I have played this bass on the album "Hands on the puzzle" by the Henrik Freischlader Band - so you can listen to that album to find out how it sounds.
